John Clayton writes:  I think they ... capture some of the essence of the event. I borrowed a copied cassette from John Allen, but believe Pete Robinson was responsible for making the original recording. Just to add to the confusion, John Sewell seemed to be the guy who was rummaging through his loft looking for tapes (he was foolish enough to suggest there may be some more somewhere). I've edited them down quite a lot, applied a bit of audio tweaking to make them rather more listenable and coded them to 32Kb MP3, which seems to work quite well for this sort of less-than-perfect material.

There doesn't seem to be a great deal of correlation between all the items on the tape and the acts as presented in the programme. Neither of the bands that our group of old pals were involved with (Ikons and Mink Creed) got onto the tape, but maybe there are some more recordings yet to be uncovered. .... It's a shame there weren't any video cameras in those days. Maybe someone has some more photo's.

John Allen was the compere of the show and I believe the maestro on the piano in the 'pit', holding the whole thing together (which took some doing!) was John Orchard. No doubt John Sewell will correct me on anything I've got wrong. Hopefully, visitors to the site may also remember their own contributions.
