Tony Rhoades (1941-46. After National Service he became an
Industrial Services Manager for Permutit. Tony Rhoades held many offices
in the Old Gaytonians Association, including Chairman 1986-91. He died on
19th April, 2003.)

Form 2D 1941Akerman, A H - a
tall swarthy boy with glasses who participated in school athletics. Came
1st in the 100 yards for form III, and 2nd in the High Jump for form III (4ft 1
in) at the Athletic Meeting held on July 13th, 1943. In Northwick
House. Runner up for the Middle Athletics Championship in July 1944.
Won the Middle school High Jump at the Athletic meeting in July 1944 with a jump
of 4ft 7 1/2 in. Awarded Athletics Colours in 1946.

Came 2nd in the 660 yards for form III at the Athletic Meeting held on July
13th, 1943.

called Cherub in consequence of his angelic looks. Won place at RAF
College, Cranwell, 1949.

exam held in July 1946, First Class and Second Bar to Medallion.
Lane, Michael
R - Philip Arnold writes, "always
top of the class. Went to Cambridge I think. Always expected to hear of him but
never did. Would have made a good don or high civil servant" In
December 1946 he was in U VI Sci. and wrote an article for Gaytonian
entitled "The Aesthetic", and a poem "School Brew".
Miller - Had lost an eye due to scissors and had a
glass one.

Page, Roy Norton - Did not reach the 6th Form. Was
killed on a motor cycle before he was 21. Came
2nd in the 100 yards for form III at the Athletic Meeting held on July 13th,
1943. (Akerman, above, was 1st.)
